Well we are now into the last half of the summer term. Hope everyone had a nice break.
We’ll be looking at ‘Green’ projects this term, learning some Seaside vocabulary in French, having a little Euro 08 fun, there’s a canoe trip to look forward too and lots more! I’ve just updated the Homework (groan) and Students Work pages (hurray - World Book Day) so do have a look. Also new links are being added all the time to our Del.icio.us bookmarks. If you have any recomendations please let me know.

So SATS are next week. Year 6 will be absolutely fine and I have no worries about them. Use the tests as an opportunity to show-off what you DO know - and you DO know lots!
I’ve found a couple of more fun sites as an alternative to the (very good) BBC Bitesize if you want to practise at home. NRICH is a fantastic Maths website, or accept the Active Science challenges to Build A Body, play the Habitat Game, or Balance that Diet, but my favourites are the Microbe Zoo, Forces Game (you can also do an electricity game and a light/sound one too on that link) and What shape is the moon simulation. If anyone not in Year 6 also wants to try these then go ahead -they are fun!
Parents can find out more about the Literacy and Numeracy Framework assessment guidelines here.
Make sure eveyone has hats and suncream on now the warm weather is here - you never know, the sun might even stay next week too! Also next week we’ll have a chance to look at a new Eurovision project and another Football/German topic; we’ll be trying to keep our bean plants alive and revive the cress; we’ll be drawing people in action poses and generally SMILING a lot!

At last we have a new blog! Sadly we are still unable to use our ‘Kingswear Ning’, though I am still in contact with the site managers and still trying to find a way around the legal technicalities. But meanwhile here is our new ‘blog’ which, who knows, we may come to like even better!
S0 far I have created a Homework page, a Letters page and a Students blog page. I have made some links to the ’safety online’ features we have discussed in class and next I hope to create a list of recommended websites for you to use at home, either to revise or play (safely) and hopefully try to put on a sort of forum or ‘chat’ space where you can leave comments and messages for each other - as you said this was one of the features you liked most.
If you have any ideas, comments or requests, let me know as soon as possible please!
